Studio Update

Hi all! We’ve been working hard in the studio, and can’t wait until you can hear the new album! The current release date will be sometime in late July or early August, so mark that on your calendar. The whole project will probably end up being a DOUBLE ALBUM! We have 17 tracks for you, including 11 “big band” songs, and 6 Adam and Geno acoustic favorites. So it’ll be a lot of bang for your buck. It doesn’t have a name yet, but once it does we’ll update you with that info. Keep checking back for updates!

Recording Has Begun

Bathtub Shrine Desk Work has begun on our next album! It has been far too long, and we are really excited to finally be back recording some new material. We’ve got a bunch of new tunes, and our plan is to make the album primarily a full band effort, with some Adam/Geno duo stuff thrown in there as well! We’ve already gotten some great sounds down to “tape” (read: computer files), and are working with our buddy Greg Schutte in his awesome studio, Bathtub Shrine! That’s the back of Greg’s head in the pic… Keep checking in for updates–we’re going to do a video blog and the whole thing. We’ll keep working away, so look for the album to be done by late July!

Peace,
WCB

St. Patrick’s Day 2011 Schedule

Spongebob SpD

No idea what Spongebob Squarepants has to do with an Catholic holiday, but there you go. The internet is full of interesting things. In any event, it’s about time we announced our St. Patrick’s Day schedule for 2011. As always, we look forward to green beer and slightly off-putting T-shirt slogans besmirching the homeland. ;o)

WCB SPD Schedule (all times on, you know, March 17)

1:45-2:20pm Landmark Center, St. Paul, MN as part of the Irish Music and Dance Association 30th Anniversary celebration
4:00pm-1:30am O’Donovan’s Irish Pub, Minneapolis, MN

Gig Calendar Updated for 2011

ical Our calendar has (finally) been updated to include all the shows we have so far for 2011! Check it out here, and come out and see some WCB…

Christmas Compilation CD Just Released

Home for the Holidays Vol 2 WCB is proud to have been included in the lineup of A-list Minnesota artists on the Home for the Holidays A Minnesota Christmas Volume 2 CD compilation. This album benefits local charities for the holidays, and the first volume sold really well so we are expecting great things yet again! Click on the above link to buy your copy and listen to our original contribution “Santa See You Tonight”. The CD is also available at Minnesota Target stores, if you are more of a brick-and-mortar sort.

Mall_of_AmericaIn support of the album, Geno and Adam will be doing an acoustic set at the Mall of America Rotunda this Saturday, so if you have decided to subject yourself to the complete and total chaos that will be the Mall this weekend, stop by from 12pm-1pm for a rest, a coffee and some WCB. We will be playing Santa See You Tonight and some other Christmas favorites! Come say hello.

Ireland Tour a Complete Success

Castlemaine Well folks, we did it. We successfully navigated the Emerald Isle with two busloads full of people, and I think we can safely say, we all had a fhantastic time!

The band played gigs in Galway, Killarney and Waterford and each show was better than the last. Each venue came right out and told us that they can’t wait for us to come back and play again–it was really something special. To those of you who went along–THANK YOU! Thank you for making this a truly unforgettable experience for us as a band. We sure hope you had as memorable time as we did. You guys rock. For a whole week WCB-mania reigned supreme in Ireland, and we can’t wait to go back in 2011! If you missed this one, we definitely want to give you a chance to make up for it, so… keep posted for details on a return trip! Also look to Adam’s Blog for a series of video updates from the road.

Ireland Time

IE-Tour-Image-color-blackIt’s Ireland time ladies and gents, and boy are we excited! If nothing else, our tour will allow us some time to get away from the 24/7 Brett Favre “will he, won’t he” weekly teledrama…

In all seriousness, we are really, really pumped. We have 65 people traveling with us for a week-long tour of the Emerald Isle, and the full band is ready to go! We have lofty aspirations, including video blogs and updates so keep checking back for the latest WCB gossip. We’re heading out on November 6 and are done with the tour on the 13th, although most of the band is staying on for various other destinations (Italy and Belfast are among them). We will see you all either in Ireland or when we get back to the USA!

All the best,
WCB

WCB Set to Play the Minnesota State Fair

MN State Fair 2010

It’s Fair time here in Minnesota, which for most means eating things on sticks. For us it is especially exciting because for the first time ever, WCB will play at the Minnesota State Fair! Our friends at O’Gara’s will be hosting the party, and since we are playing on three different nights there is plenty of opportunity to see us. If you are at the Fair, there is really no excuse to miss us, so come to the BRAND-NEW O’Gara’s location (right inside the main gate off Snelling Ave) and say hello!
Dates and times:

(Adam and Geno shows)
Thursday, Aug 26 (Opening Day!)

Irish Fair of Minnesota Set Times and Info

It’s that time again, folks–the Irish Fair of Minnesota is here! Since we are based in the Twin Cities, this festival (the largest Irish festival in the upper Midwest) is really the highlight of our annual calendar. Friday, August 13, 8pm-8:30pm in the Pub Tent
Friday, August 13, 10pm-11pm in the Pub Tent

Saturday, August 14, 2:40-3:10pm at the Pizza Luce Block Party (see the Luce website for details), then
Saturday, August 14, 5:15-6:15pm back at the Irish Fair on the Main Stage

Sunday, August 15, 4pm-5pm on the River Stage

These sets are all with our full band. We have new material to play for you, new T-shirts for you to check out and lots of other stuff so come out to the Irish Fair! It’s FREE and promises to be a great weekend.
Irish Fair CDCover
Also new at the Irish Fair this year is a CD compilation featuring some of the acts performing at this year’s event. It is in memory of Tim “Fitz” Fitzgerald, and we are proud that our song in his honor “Big Tim Fitzgerald” is opening the disc. Fitz himself closes things out, which is perfect, since no one could follow him. All proceeds from the sale of this album will go to a scholarship fund that the Irish Fair has established in Fitz’s name. Get out there and support a great cause.

We’ll see you at the Fair! For more info, check out their website here.
