Cody McKinney
Cody McKinney has been omnipresent in the local and national music scene for well over a decade. With over 20 album credits, numerous tours, pit orchestras, and extensive freelance composition credentials, Cody has quickly become a top call musician.
Educated at the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston, McKinney’s reputation soon spread from his work with The Inner Voices Trio (Nate Brown, Jay Epstein) and the Alicia Wiley Trio (Alicia Wiley, Kevin Washington). In recent years, the development of his own projects, from pop (Ticklefight) to jazz (Homecoming King, Battlecat, Cody McKinney Trio) and Irish pub music (Reverse Cowboy) has shown his diversity as a writer, singer and bassist. This diversity has allowed him the opportunity to play with members of the New Power Generation (Prince), Atmosphere, and Tower of Power.
Continuing in that tradition, Cody finds himself splitting his time with numerous acts including world beat pioneers Axis Mundi, modern Americana group Doug Otto and the Getaways, funk ensemble Sam Kuusisto Band, as well as backing up numerous jazz vocalists.
This award winning bassist counts his involvement with The Wild Colonial Bhoys as another highlight in a very bright and developing career.
