The Voters Have Spoken!

IMA-V
Well, the polls have closed, and WCB has won the popular vote for the Kansas City Irish Music Association’s “Best Duo” Award for 2009! The public vote is only one part of the voting process apparently (votes by members of the IMA “count for more” somehow), so we’ll see how things shake out, but we feel that showing how much popular support we have is really the most important thing! Thanks to all of you who voted, moblized people to vote and posted such nice comments on www.irishmusicawards.com! We are truly blessed to have your support, and we are honored by it.

The awards ceremony is Wednesday, January 27th at O’Malley’s in Weston so Geno and Adam will probably be in attendance, and who knows… they might just win.

BRRRR

It’s COLLLDDDDD here in Kansas City today! I’m in my hotel room, trying to stay warm. Geno and I played at O’Malley’s in Weston last night for New Year’s Eve. Happy New Year everyone! I really am surprised at this weather, since typically it is a lot warmer here than at home in the Twin Cities, but I guess it gets wintery in other places than Minnesota.

The gig last night was fun–there were a lot of “new” people there, and hopefully they had a good time. They were drunk enough anyway. haha. We play O’Malley’s both tonight and tomorrow as well, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of our regular fhans who probably didn’t get tickets to last night’s ticketed event show. Should be fun!

I got a really neat new toy for Christmas (well, I bought it myself with some gift cards I had gotten for Xmas plus some cash)–a Flip HD video camera. I recorded a little tour of O’Malley’s last night for those of you who’ve never been there, and I’ll work to edit that and get it up on the site soon. I guess I need a faster computer to do it apparently, since mine doesn’t have the processing power necessary. Oh well, I’ll figure it out.

Hope you all had a great holiday season! I guess now all we have to look forward to is the snow melting and St. Patrick’s Day!
